Online label printing from SAP to decentralized printers confronts interfaces with special requirements: You typically do not have direct access to the printers of your partners, for example a supplier. At best, you know or can specify the printer model.

Supplier portal for labels – how it works
The OPAL Web Print Client (WPC) offers the perfect solution: Secure, flexible and standardized printing via a web browser. The solution works like a supplier portal for labels. And with it we combine two processes:
Following the secure authentication of the partner, the SAP print transaction is executed in the partner’s browser as a web application. The users then enter their details to request a print job for the label. Web Printing then sends the printout to a printer in the partner’s local network. This in turn eliminates the need for unstable and costly technical integrations
With OPAL’s SAP Web Printing solution, your business partners can print a label directly from SAP on their local printer. So gone are the days when labels were exchanged between business partners by post. What’s more, VPN connections and dedicated lines to suppliers and other partners are superfluous with the Web Print Client.

Local printouts
The client-side function allows labels to be printed on a local printer that SAP system is unaware of. Your partners use their preferred printer models and print your labels for you.
SAP Integration
The online printing option from SAP offers your partners a print screen, which is generated directly from your SAP system. Define which entries the authorized users have to specify in order to create labels via SAP. Suppliers can, for example, specify their supplier batch directly.
Scan ‘n’ Print
Barrier-free work with barcodes: In productive environments, keyboards for system input are not really popular – too many incorrect entries can prevent efficient process flows. The Web Print Client (WPC) therefore supports input via barcode scanners to enable efficient operation in production areas without a keyboard.
Simple user management
In user management, you can manage the users of your partners in groups. You can configure authorization via Active Directory and Single Sign-On (SSO) or locally. With extensive settings for authorization and permissions as well as user parameters, you can adapt the behavior in line with individual process requirements.
Printing instructions
On the one hand, you can offer your partner, a supplier for example, instructions and information as a pop-up before printing. On the other, documents can also be uploaded. This allows you, for example, to provide packaging instructions to the partner. This means the operator knows how and where to place the labels on the products or container.
Live label preview
With a label preview before the physical printout, the user can check all data again and therefore avoid unwanted misprints. Users can print their labels directly from the preview.
