In many cases, manufacturers can decide for themselves whether to use CE, UKCA or both markings. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_medium\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2>UKCA or CE &#8211; which applies where?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row us_custom_4c77c721 via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"1834\">Great Britain (England, Wales, Scotland)<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1835\" data-end=\"1873\">The following currently applies to the UK market:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox iconpos_left style_default color_primary align_left no_title\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-icon\" style=\"font-size:2rem;\"><i class=\"fas fa-check\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox-meta\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-text\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>CE marking still permitted for many product categories<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox iconpos_left style_default color_primary align_left no_title\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-icon\" style=\"font-size:2rem;\"><i class=\"fas fa-check\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox-meta\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-text\"><p><strong>UKCA marking also valid<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox iconpos_left style_default color_primary align_left no_title\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-icon\" style=\"font-size:2rem;\"><i class=\"fas fa-check\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox-meta\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-text\"><p><strong>Parallel marking (CE + UKCA) permitted<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p data-start=\"2047\" data-end=\"2188\">However, <strong data-start=\"2105\" data-end=\"2126\">UKCA<\/strong> may still be <strong data-start=\"2105\" data-end=\"2126\">required<\/strong> in certain regulated areas. Product-specific testing is therefore essential. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3>Northern Ireland: Special regulation<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2226\" data-end=\"2285\">Northern Ireland remains subject to EU product regulations:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox iconpos_left style_default color_primary align_left no_title\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-icon\" style=\"font-size:2rem;\"><i class=\"fas fa-check\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox-meta\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-text\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>CE marking mandatory<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox iconpos_left style_default color_primary align_left no_title\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-icon\" style=\"font-size:2rem;\"><i class=\"fas fa-check\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox-meta\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-text\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2376\">UKNI marking also required<\/strong> if a British inspection body is involved<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox iconpos_left style_default color_custom align_left no_title\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-icon\" style=\"font-size:2rem;--icon-color:#e61717;\"><i class=\"fas fa-times\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"w-iconbox-meta\"><div class=\"w-iconbox-text\"><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>UKCA alone is not enough in Northern Ireland<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p data-start=\"2482\" data-end=\"2560\">This regulation applies permanently as part of the so-called <strong data-start=\"2538\" data-end=\"2559\">Windsor Framework<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 id=\"rules-for-using-the-ukni-marking\">Special product groups<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2595\" data-end=\"2741\">The recognition of the CE marking <strong data-start=\"2637\" data-end=\"2673\">does not<\/strong> apply <strong data-start=\"2637\" data-end=\"2673\">across the board to all products<\/strong>. Deviating or supplementary regulations exist, for example, for <\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2742\" data-end=\"2841\">\n<li data-start=\"2742\" data-end=\"2762\">\n<p data-start=\"2744\" data-end=\"2762\">Medical devices<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2763\" data-end=\"2779\">\n<p data-start=\"2765\" data-end=\"2779\">Building products<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2780\" data-end=\"2796\">\n<p data-start=\"2782\" data-end=\"2796\">pressure equipment<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2797\" data-end=\"2815\">\n<p data-start=\"2799\" data-end=\"2815\">ATEX products<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2816\" data-end=\"2841\">\n<p data-start=\"2818\" data-end=\"2841\">Measuring and weighing rights<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2843\" data-end=\"2870\">In these areas you can:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2871\" data-end=\"2992\">\n<li data-start=\"2871\" data-end=\"2907\">\n<p data-start=\"2873\" data-end=\"2907\">own transitional regulations apply,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2908\" data-end=\"2953\">\n<p data-start=\"2910\" data-end=\"2953\">national British requirements exist,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2954\" data-end=\"2992\">\n<p data-start=\"2956\" data-end=\"2992\">or separate reforms may be planned.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3090\"><strong data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3009\">Recommendation:<\/strong> Always make labeling decisions <strong data-start=\"3049\" data-end=\"3081\">on a product- and market-specific basis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 data-start=\"3097\" data-end=\"3137\">Conformity assessment and test centers<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"3138\" data-end=\"3471\">\n<li data-start=\"3138\" data-end=\"3231\">\n<p data-start=\"3140\" data-end=\"3231\"><strong data-start=\"3140\" data-end=\"3181\">EU Notified Bodies<\/strong> are still responsible for CE marking<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3232\" data-end=\"3290\">\n<p data-start=\"3234\" data-end=\"3290\"><strong data-start=\"3234\" data-end=\"3255\">British bodies<\/strong> became <strong data-start=\"3266\" data-end=\"3288\">UK Approved Bodies<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3291\" data-end=\"3368\">\n<p data-start=\"3293\" data-end=\"3368\">UKCA markings may require a UK inspection body<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3369\" data-end=\"3471\">\n<p data-start=\"3371\" data-end=\"3471\">In many cases, existing CE certificates remain valid for the UK market<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3 data-start=\"3478\" data-end=\"3533\">Technical documentation and declarations of conformity<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3534\" data-end=\"3597\">The following points must be observed during practical implementation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3598\" data-end=\"3974\">\n<li data-start=\"3598\" data-end=\"3663\">\n<p data-start=\"3600\" data-end=\"3663\">A <strong data-start=\"3618\" data-end=\"3650\">UK Declaration of Conformity<\/strong> is required for UKCA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3664\" data-end=\"3737\">\n<p data-start=\"3666\" data-end=\"3737\">CE and UKCA declarations of conformity must be <strong data-start=\"3710\" data-end=\"3730\">kept separately<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3738\" data-end=\"3805\">\n<p data-start=\"3740\" data-end=\"3805\">Technical documentation must be available <strong data-start=\"3770\" data-end=\"3790\">in English<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3806\" data-end=\"3898\">\n<p data-start=\"3808\" data-end=\"3898\">Depending on the product, the labeling may also appear on the packaging or accompanying documents<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3899\" data-end=\"3974\">\n<p data-start=\"3901\" data-end=\"3974\"><strong data-start=\"3906\" data-end=\"3941\">Dual labeling (CE + UKCA)<\/strong> is permissible and often useful<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_medium\"><div class=\"l-section-overlay\" style=\"background:var(--color-header-middle-text)\"><\/div><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-4 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"w-image align_none\"><div
